Original brief for the design was "I like the idea of feeling compelled to touch the walls as you walk up and down the stairs"
After discussing over the phone and via email the clients more specific requirements we created and shared some pinterest boards to find an outline design and texture to suit, 2 images(1st two below) were chosen by the client to be of interest.
A few sample boards were made, playing with texture until a 1st board was sent off for client to inspect.
Texture was deemed good, but, wanted more.
Colour was a bit bland in situ, so differing/brighter colours were needed on such a small enclosed staircase.
More sample boards were created with different designs and more varied textures, until one was found we were happy to send off.
We set about the lengthy job mixing many colourants and waxes to create the ideal colours for the location.
This board was again sent off for client appraisal and was then deemed the definitive design for installation .
